A fundraiser for Bruce House |
| Visit the Update Page for information regarding my preparation for the race and fundraising totals. (updated - September 2, 2002) |
| Last year was the first time I endeavoured to raise money for Bruce House, through participation in a ½ Ironman. Just under $600 was raised. This year, I am participating in Subaru Ironman Canada a 226 km one-day journey including a 3.8 km open water swim, 180 km bike through the Okanagan region and, finally, a 42.2 km marathon. It is twice as far as last year but, I think it fair to say, about four times the effort. Therefore the goal for this year is $2500. |

| The Scoop
On August 25, I intend to push my body further than it has gone before. In Penticton, BC I will complete my first Ironman. This is the culmination of a long-time dream. It will be tough but all good at the same time.Im hoping you will help!As an extra incentive to push me over the last few kilometres, I have decided to once again undertake a fundraising effort for Bruce House. Bruce House is a community-based organization providing housing, compassionate care and support in Ottawa-Carleton for people living with HIV and AIDS, believing that everyone has the right to live and die with dignity.
